End-to-end
cold-chain traceability
The seafood industry ran on physical auctions, pen-and-paper trading and layers of middlemen. Freshness was lost to one to two weeks of delays, there was no supply chain transparency and no real-time tracking, and complex cold-chain logistics kept fishermen from reaching national or global markets.
Adaca designed and built a first-of-its-kind two-sided B2B marketplace: escrow-based payments for trustless transactions, deep integration with first, middle and last-mile logistics providers, and full cold-chain traceability across the platform. The engagement began in 2017 and the marketplace went live in 2018.
ShoreTrade launched in 2018 and expanded from Sydney to the Australian east coast and into international markets. Adaca has remained the technical infrastructure and support partner for over five years, and in 2020 the technology went on to power the new Sydney Fish Market's digital trading platform, modernising one of the world's most iconic seafood hubs.
